Privacy Policy

Tentpole Studio (“Tentpole”, “the app”) is a Mac app for writing screenplays and turning them into storyboards, video and finished cuts. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: we don’t collect any data about you. Your projects live on your Mac, and the app only sends something to an outside service when you ask it to, using an account you set up with that service.
What stays on your Mac
Everything you make in Tentpole is saved in your project files (.tentpole documents), in the location you choose. This includes your scripts, breakdowns, characters, locations, styles, generated images and video, your timeline, and the running cost total shown in the app. Project files don’t leave your Mac unless you move, share or back them up yourself (for example with iCloud Drive or Time Machine).
API keys you enter in Settings are stored in your Mac’s Keychain. They are sent only to the service each key belongs to, to authorize your requests.
App preferences, such as window layout, zoom and your chosen models, are stored in the app’s standard settings on your Mac.
What we collect
Nothing. Tentpole has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services of our own, and we run no servers that receive your content. We can’t see your scripts, prompts, images, videos or keys.
Services you connect
Tentpole’s AI features run on third-party services that you choose and connect with your own API key or server address. When you start a task, such as breaking down a scene, asking for writing help, or generating an image, video or voice, the app sends the material that task needs directly from your Mac to that service. Depending on the task, that can include script text, scene and shot descriptions, character and location notes, prompts, and reference images or clips.

Those services handle what you send under their own terms and privacy policies, and under the account you hold with them, including how long they keep it and whether they use it to train models. Please review them. Tentpole never sends your content to a service you haven’t set up, and never in the background without you starting a task.
You can also run breakdown on your Mac with an on-device model. When you choose one, Tentpole downloads the model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). After that, the model runs entirely on your Mac and your script isn’t sent anywhere.
Purchases
Tentpole Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether Pro is unlocked. We don’t receive your name, email address or payment details. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
Tentpole isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- Remove a key in Settings to stop Tentpole from using that service.
- Delete takes, references or whole projects at any time; they are ordinary files on your Mac.
- To have a service delete content you sent it, contact that service; we hold no copy.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change affects what the app sends or stores, we’ll also describe it in the app’s release notes.
