Terms of Use
Effective September 28, 2026
These terms cover your use of Tentpole Studio (“Tentpole”, “the app”) and Tentpole Pro. They add to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”), which applies to every app from the App Store. If the two conflict, the Apple EULA controls. By using Tentpole you agree to both.
1. The app
Tentpole is licensed to you, not sold, for use on Apple-branded computers you own or control, as the Apple EULA describes. The app, its design and its code belong to Jeff Boone (“we”, “us”).
2. Tentpole Free and Tentpole Pro
Tentpole is free to download. Some features, such as working on several projects at once, breaking down and generating past the first 10 script pages, batch breakdown and generation, HEVC and ProRes export without an end card, and FCPXML export, require Tentpole Pro.
- Tentpole Pro is a one-time purchase made through the Mac App Store. It is not a subscription and doesn’t renew.
- Pro is tied to your Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases in the app to unlock it on another Mac signed in to the same account.
- Apple handles payment and refunds. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
- “Lifetime” means for as long as we offer and support the app. We may change which features are in Free or Pro in future versions, but we won’t take away a Pro feature you’ve paid for in the version you have.
3. Third-party AI services
Tentpole’s AI features run on services you connect yourself, such as Anthropic, fal.ai, Google and ElevenLabs, using your own API keys, or on servers or on-device models you choose.
- Your use of each service is governed by your agreement with that service, including its usage and content policies. You’re responsible for following them.
- Those services bill you directly. Cost estimates and the running total shown in Tentpole are approximate and for convenience only. Your provider’s own billing is what counts. Set limits with each provider if you want a hard cap.
- We don’t operate these services and aren’t responsible for their availability, output, pricing, content moderation or changes to their models. Models may be added, changed or removed as providers change them.
4. Your content
You own what you write and bring into Tentpole. We claim no rights to your scripts, projects, prompts or reference material, and we never receive them (see the Privacy Policy).
Rights in AI-generated images, video and audio depend on the terms of the service that made them and on the law where you are. Some places may not give copyright protection to purely machine-generated work. You’re responsible for checking that you can use generated material the way you plan to.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use Tentpole to create or share content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights. This includes using a real person’s likeness or voice without their permission, material that sexualizes minors, content intended to harass, defraud or deceive, and deceptive “deepfakes” of real people or events. Follow the content policies of every service you connect.
6. No warranty
Tentpole is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the fullest extent the law allows. AI output can be inaccurate, unexpected or unsuitable, and generation can fail. Please keep backups of your projects. The warranty terms and disclaimers in the Apple EULA also apply.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost data, or charges from third-party services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Tentpole Pro. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
8. Changes and ending these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and change the effective date, and continued use means you accept it. You can stop using Tentpole at any time by deleting the app. Sections 4, 6, 7 and 9 still apply after that.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
